Why Jim

Why should you vote for Jim for Congress?  Here are my demographics.

Jim wants to preserve benefits for retired persons.  The benefits are barely adequate.  Medicare and Social Security should not be cut.  But Medicare is being cut by requirements of the new health care law.  Jim  would repeal this law.

Workers will benefit from the Social Security reforms that Jim is advocating.

Youth will benefit from the educational reforms that JIm advocates.

Jim wants to help the poor and the unemployed.  Present laws keep persons in poverty.  They want help not a hand out.

Jim understands minorities and their needs.  He has a minority family.

Investors will benefit from tax and regulatory reforms.  Stop the attack on the rich.  We need the money and the skills of the 1%.

Jim will keep the nation safe with a strong military and will work to stop the no win politically motivated wars which are damaging our world wide status and puting an end to the unnecessary burden on our military forces.

Jim will work for monetary reform which will make your money more valuable and reduce inflation.

Jim will work to increase domestic oil production for lower prices and less reliance on foreign sources.

  1. As a tax paying citizen of the state of Washington, I want to know what if any involvement this candidate will have in amending current Washington state law. My family is overwhelmed with the offensive, headache and vomit inducing odor of marijuana smell from the grower next door to me. I want this state to respect its residents as much as it respects its revenue from marijuana sales tax income. My concerns are:

to add the following additional limitations to Marijuana Production, sales and harvesting: The code/law (WAC 314-55-010) should add that no production/sales or harvesting is allowed within 1,000 feet of schools, day care centers, public facilities (e.g., parks, municipal buildings, community center, cemeteries, and churches, as measured from edge of property line to edge of property line, this limitation also includes a limitation of no production/sales or harvesting allowed within two city blocks or 1000′, whichever is larger, from any residence. Amend the law to enforce nuisance issues ensuring the public is not exposed to noxious and offensive Volatile Organic odors from a business in the production of marijuana.

Add additional limitations for recreational grows limiting license issue to applicants that are up to date on there state, county and property taxes, regardless of who owns the property.

Add a limitation that allows the WLCB to shut down a facility if the operator is using on the property.

What is this candidates stance on my concerns?

  2. Mr. Postma,

I was at the PFLAG meeting today, and I want to thank you for coming. It was clear that you felt out of your element, and I applaud your courage for coming anyway. It was good that so many candidates came, though it did make it hard for there to be much discussion.

I wouldn’t be surprised if you felt you had been shabbily treated when the moderator cut you off when you brought up Islamic terrorism, but I actually believe she did you a favor. The people you were addressing are well aware that fundamentalist Muslims treat LGBT people very poorly, including killing them. However, more pressing, and a more immediate threat are the fundamentalist Christians who strive to harm LGBT people, up to and including advocating that they be killed. If you were not prepared to answer questions about how to deal with Christian terrorists, introducing Islamic terrorism into the discussion would not have helped you get your message out to this group.

  3. You are so cool! I don’t think I’ve truly read through something like that before. So wonderful to find someone with original thoughts on this topic. Seriously.. many thanks for starting this up. This website is something that’s needed on the web, someone with some originality!
