Universal healthcare is a wonderful goal. Good health is one of our basic needs along with food and shelter. Usually this entails a federal government run program which is inefficient. Because government does not make any money, they have to ration scarce resources. We see this in our present health care system. Medicare works well but it is not free. My family pays $9,000 per year for our health care with Medicare. I belive that my health care without medicare should only cost $9,000 and that is my goal for all retirees.
Under Obama Care, Medicare benefits are being cut. Doctor payments have been reduced by 12%. Private hospitals are restricted. Many doctors are retiring. Treatments are being rationed or restricted. I may lose my cancer care in 2014 when the full effect of this law is implemented. Every person on Medicare should be voting next month for candidates that will repeal this law. It is expensive. Persons not insured have had their insurance greatly increased. Everyone should be voting against this bad law. Instead of expanding an expensive government program to more persons, we should strive to reduce the cost so more people can afford medical care.
My plan for social security will also pay for your medical insurance. See the tab on social security.
